Realtek positively participates in LE audio technology development

Bluetooth SIG Technology Alliance is an international organization that formulates Bluetooth specifications and promotes Bluetooth technology. We have a long-term cooperative relationship with SIG to communicate with each other and promote the development of Bluetooth technology. We have continued to pay attention to LE Audio since last year. Realtek unveiled the demo of true wireless stereo (TWS) and speakers that support LE Audio at the product launch in October 2021 and recently launched a complete dongle SDK for LE Audio transmitters. We positively continue to participate in LE audio technology development. Realtek has two IC series that support full-featured LE Audio, covering both the transmitter and receiver markets. One is an intelligent AI platform, where the power consumption of LE Audio is close to 3mA. The other is designed for customers who intend to quickly enter the LE Audio market, providing easy-to-use editing tools and SDKs (software development kits) that enable fast development of LE Audio products for speedy market-entry. We're enabling the ability to rapidly develop low-power audio products and get to the market first.

Auracast, a new generation of Bluetooth broadcast audio

Recently Bluetooth sig officially launched a new generation of broadcast audio Auracast™.Auracast™ broadcast audio will expand the ecosystem of Bluetooth® audio devices, break the limitation of receiving audio in public places and create more market demand. It will also enhance our connection with each other and the world around us and improve the listening experience for everyone. Share audio through different devices, enhance the public listening experience, and even unmute your world. In public places, Auracast™ broadcast audio could unmute screens that were previously silent, allowing interested watchers to easily join the television's audio broadcast using their personal Bluetooth devices without disturbing others. We will provide much more support for hearing aids to enhance the audio experience for people with hearing loss.

At last, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) explores lowering latency. With latency further improved in the future, the scalability associated with AV synchronization and AR/VR applications will be more promising. Realtek has improved the latency of end-to-end Classic Bluetooth® audio to a professional gaming headset level, adopted by many gaming manufacturers. The applications based on LE Audio will also regard low latency as an important development direction, eliminating the limitation on audio and video synchronization in the future true wireless stereo (TWS) market.
