Full-scenario Matter over Thread solution

Matter is a universal connectivity standard initiated by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), aimed at ensuring interoperability between different brands and devices, so that users do not need to worry about device compatibility issues. The Thread protocol focuses on low-power, low-latency, and highly reliable wireless transmission, providing stable network connections for devices. The combination of Matter and Thread simplifies device deployment, enhances data transmission efficiency, and offers a more reliable and flexible connectivity solution for various IoT scenarios.
Realtek's Matter over Thread solutions include the following:
Thread Border Router Solution: Provides bridging functionality between Thread and other IP networks.
Matter over Thread Device Solution: Suitable for devices implementing Matter over Thread, such as lights, switches, and door locks. Devices can function as either routers (Router) or end devices (End Device) within the Thread network to optimize network performance and energy consumption.
Matter Controller Software Services: Offers Matter controller software services on Android systems. Combined with border router functionality, the controller can directly manage Matter devices within Thread networks and other IP networks.
Additionally, Realtek also provides a comprehensive set of Matter over Wi-Fi solutions.

System Structure

Thread Border Routing Solutions: RTL8771GUV and RTL8771HTV
This solution supports Thread RCP products connecting to host devices such as PCs, TVs, speakers, and set-top boxes via USB or UART interfaces. Combined with the host-side Thread protocol stack and Wi-Fi/Ethernet functionality, it implements Thread Border Router functionality for cross-network communication.
Matter over Thread Device Solutions: RTL8777GKF and RTL8772GWP
This solution is suitable for Matter over Thread end devices and can be integrated into home and industrial control products, such as washing machines, air conditioners, sockets, switches, lighting, door locks, and curtains.
Thread Border Routing SoC Solutions: RTL8772GWP
This chip is not only suitable for Thread end devices but can also be used to build Thread border routers, providing a complete SoC solution without relying on host devices such as PCs, TVs, speakers, and set-top boxes.
