Realtek Semiconductor Corp participated in the Thread Group Fall Member Meeting 2025 held from October 14–16 in Stockholm, Sweden, thereby reinforcing its strong commitment to the advancement of Thread and Matter interoperability in next-generation smart home ecosystems.
During the event, Realtek showcased and demonstrated its RTL8777G Thread Wake End Device (WED), showcasing its role in enabling Thread-in-Mobile solutions for Thread-enabled smart lock devices. Built for ultra-low-power operation and secure connectivity, RTL8777G achieves seamless Thread network integration, powering robust, energy-efficient smart home systems. This platform enhances user safety, convenience, and cross-device interoperability within the rapidly expanding ecosystem for connected living.
In addition, Realtek featured its RTL8772G Open Thread Border Router (OTBR) solution, which provides reliable and scalable Thread network backbone infrastructure. This demonstration illustrated Realtek's capability to support Thread device-to-network communication—empowering manufacturers to accelerate Matter product adoption across smart home, smart building, and access control segments.
Realtek's participation underscores its leading role in building a connected, secure, and interoperable Matter-over-Thread ecosystem, aligning with the Thread Group's ongoing commitment to industry-wide standardization and seamless device interoperability.
