At IBC2025, Realtek will unveil the future of connected living with an impressive showcase of its latest innovations in smart home connectivity and control. The spotlight will be on Realtek's advanced Matter over Thread Total Solutions, specifically developed to transform how smart devices communicate. Designed with seamless integration and interoperability in mind, these solutions aim to drive the next evolution of smart homes, making them more connected, intuitive, and responsive than ever before.
A key highlight of Realtek's exhibit is the RTL8772G Thread Net OTBR SoC, a solution tailored for Thread Border Router applications. This sophisticated technology delivers strong network interoperability while streamlining network management, serving as the backbone for consistent and reliable communication among smart devices. It ensures optimal performance and unifies system operation across the entire smart home setup. Supporting this is the RTL8771 Thread RCP Solution, a versatile platform that enables host devices to effortlessly integrate into Thread networks. Equally important is the RTL8777G Thread SoC, which has been engineered for smart home end devices and provides high-speed, dependable connectivity across a broad range of applications. From smart lighting to advanced environmental sensors, this solution empowers manufacturers to design scalable and durable smart home products that can adapt to the fast-changing demands of today's market.
Further pushing the boundaries of user interaction, Realtek is introducing its upcoming Bluetooth HMI Controller Solutions driven by the RTL8772GWP. These innovative controllers feature rotary knob and touchscreen interfaces designed to enhance user engagement by making device operation feel more natural and effortless. By incorporating advanced user interface technologies, Realtek significantly elevates the smart home experience, allowing for more intuitive and device control with unmatched ease.
Looking ahead, Realtek is also advancing its Thread solutions with the RTL8771GTN, developed for a Network Co-Processor (NCP) architecture. In this setup, the RTL8771GTN takes charge of the IEEE802.15.4 transceiver functionalities and core Thread stack, while a more powerful host processor handles the application and upper-layer protocols. This division provides two notable benefits. First, it enhances energy efficiency by allowing the host processor to enter low-power sleep modes while the energy-efficient NCP maintains continuous Thread network connectivity. Second, it decouples the application from the network stack, enabling developers to build and test applications on the host processor without altering or affecting the certified Thread NCP firmware. This leads to a more efficient design process and significantly reduces time-to-market.
Realtek's unwavering commitment to connectivity, interoperability, and user-centric design positions it as a leader at the forefront of smart home technology. With its comprehensive Matter over Thread offerings, advanced HMI controllers, and pioneering Thread NCP innovations, Realtek continues to empower device makers and consumers alike to shape a smarter, more connected future for the global smart home ecosystem.
