Organized by "52 Audio" Network, the 2025 Asia AI Smart Glasses Conference was held on March 21 at the Shenzhen Bay Science and Technology Ecological Park. The event brought together companies from across the smart glasses industry chain. Realtek showcased its dual-chip AI smart glasses solution, featuring the RTL8773D + RTL8735B, which provides high-performance audio, video, and wireless connectivity for AI glasses.

Realtek's dual-chip AI smart glasses solution

This solution is composed of a dual-chip combination of RTL8773D and RTL8735B, delivering a comprehensive and efficient smart glasses application. The RTL8773D mainly handles communication, audio processing, display, and user interaction. It supports Bluetooth 5.4 for low-power wireless connectivity, and comes with a built-in microphone and speaker for voice input and audio output. It also integrates touch control, physical button operation, display output, and power management functions.

The RTL8735B focuses on image processing and data storage. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and camera input, making it suitable for photo and video capture. Equipped with an Image Signal Processor (ISP) to enhance image quality, it also integrates Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for improved video stability. Additionally, it supports storage features for saving images and data.

Through this dual-chip architecture, Realtek modularizes and distributes functions, effectively enhancing the flexibility and overall performance of smart glasses design.

Key Features of Realtek's Dual-Chip AI Smart Glasses Solution

In terms of audio functionality, the RTL8773D series supports Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), Voice Activity Detection (VAD), and Keyword Spotting (KWS). It also features Bluetooth 5.4 dual-mode, enabling both A2DP high-quality audio streaming and LE Audio low-power audio transmission, delivering an exceptional sound experience.

For image processing, the RTL8735B is equipped with an ARM V8M processor (500MHz), capable of capturing 12MP snapshots and supporting 2K video recording. It includes an integrated H.265/H.264 Image Signal Processor (ISP) to ensure high-quality video output.

In terms of computing performance, the RTL8773D series uses an ARM Cortex-M4 processor (160MHz) along with dual-core Cadence DSPs (320MHz, 2.56 GOPS), and provides 4.3MB of SRAM. It supports hardware-based VAD/KWS and 4 to 6-microphone arrays (MIC ENC), offering powerful AI voice processing capabilities.

For wireless connectivity, the smart AI glasses support BT Classic coexisting with Wi-Fi, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz / 5GHz), and Wi-Fi Direct, ensuring flexible and stable wireless communication.

Additionally, the app features a built-in AI assistant with multimodal interaction technology, allowing users to communicate naturally with the device via voice, images, and gestures, thereby enhancing usability and intelligence. The app also integrates an OTA (Over-the-Air) update mechanism, enabling users to receive firmware updates in real time without complex operations.
