Bluetooth Personal Area Network (PAN) is a small, short-range wireless network based on Bluetooth technology. It aims to simplify connections between devices, enabling data sharing and network interoperability. This is particularly suitable for short-range, low-power applications such as personal device synchronization, device interconnection, and peripheral connections. The technology leverages Bluetooth hardware to establish virtual connections between different devices, allowing existing application software to transfer and exchange data across devices without requiring modifications to the software itself.

This year's Computex is positioned as "Connecting AI, Co-creating the Future," focusing on themes such as AI computing, advanced communications, future mobility, immersive reality, green energy sustainability, and innovation. Realtek showcased a variety of smart solutions in Bluetooth, including Matter over Wi-Fi and Thread IoT solutions, Chat GPT AI solutions, and Human Interface Device (HID) solutions, offering customers new application directions and bringing more convenient lifestyles to users.

Realtek Semiconductor will participate in the globally acclaimed top technology event — the 2024 Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany, from April 9th to 11th. This exhibition, attracting professional audiences from 75 countries, is an eagerly anticipated annual international feast for cooperation and exchange. Realtek will showcase comprehensive communication network solutions for all applications, covering a wide range, and including automotive chips, Wi-Fi 7 routers, industrial-grade Ethernet switches, PON SoCs, Bluetooth, and IoT solutions. Each exhibit embodies the pursuit of network communication technology, with solutions also integrating AI intelligent applications to provide efficient technical support for smart products.

Recently, the amount of Bluetooth devices that support A2DP source/ HFP capability has grown dramatically. Nowadays, most users might have multiple devices, such as mobile phones, tablets, soundbars, TV sets, game consoles, etc. (Please refer to Figure 1 / Figure 2.) Simultaneously, the TWS earbud is now the most popular audio/voice sink device. If solution vendors can provide an easier way of creating/maintaining connections and smoothly switching between source devices, it will end up helping users significantly. Thus, Multilink, called Multi-connection, became a mandatory capability in Earbud.
