Media > Realtek Expands Bluetooth Opportunities for Smarter RCUs, Connected Wellness and Gaming at IBC 2026

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. concluded its participation at IBC 2026  amid strong interest in its latest Bluetooth platforms, reflecting growing demand for more responsive, feature-rich connected devices across television, home entertainment, smart-home, gaming and wellness applications.

At the show, Realtek demonstrated a broad portfolio of Bluetooth solutions designed to help OEMs create capable, power-efficient products—from entry-level remote-control units (RCUs) to advanced graphical controllers, connected wellness devices and low-latency gaming accessories.

Realtek's Bluetooth RCU solutions range from efficient monochrome remotes to premium graphical controllers. The RTL8762E and RTL8752H support Bluetooth Low Energy, IR learning, voice control, key scanning, OTA updates, and monochrome or segmented LCD displays. These features give manufacturers a practical, flexible foundation for developing capable remote controls with low power consumption. For more advanced user interfaces, the RTL8772GWP integrates a 125 MHz Cortex-M55 MCU, 2D graphics capabilities, PSRAM buffering, and support for 480×480 24-bit color displays. Its combination of Bluetooth LE, Thread and Matter connectivity—together with flexible touch, voice, sensing, memory and Ethernet interfaces—enables OEMs to develop customizable smart-home, multimedia and appliance-control products on a common platform.

Realtek also showcased the Google G42 reference-design pointer remote, powered by the RTL8762DT. The design demonstrated a more intuitive approach to smart-TV navigation by combining physical keys, voice input, touch controls and pointer functionality. Optional FindMy Remote capability, UWB support and an integrated IMU can further enable precise motion-based interaction and differentiated premium remote-control experiences.

In connected wellness, Realtek presented a smart healthcare RCU concept that combines traditional remote-control functions with personal health monitoring. Built around the RTL8762DT or RTL8772GWP and paired with the RTL8765AC PPG front end, the concept supports heart-rate and blood-oxygen monitoring, as well as blood-pressure estimation. It retains essential RCU features including voice input, IR learning and transmission, key scanning, and silent OTA updates.

For gaming and wireless audio applications, Realtek featured the RTL8773J Bluetooth HDT audio SoC. Supporting Realtek HDT and R-HDT+ technologies, the platform delivers data rates of up to 15 Mbps and targets latency of approximately 10 ms, addressing the need for responsive, synchronized audio in interactive gaming environments. Its Shorter Connection Interval technology can reduce connection intervals to as little as 1.25 ms, helping enable faster audio and HID responsiveness.

Through its IBC 2026 demonstrations, Realtek highlighted how its Bluetooth technologies can help partners simplify product development, accelerate time to market and deliver more engaging connected-device experiences.
